Hunter Rowing Club (HRC) was incorporated in 1987, to provide rowing facilities and promote the sport of rowing in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle regions. In 1998, our club relocated from Speers Point, to our newly developed club house at First Street, Booragul. All training is conducted from these facilities.
HRC operates all year round, with training sessions available every Saturday and Sunday. We also provide training and equipment to local schools in our area, these schools are encouraged to participate in the Combined High Schools Rowing Championship and with HRC in competition. HRC shares its facilities with the Newcastle Grammar School.
The Club has grown a large contingent of masters rowers who have had ongoing success since the club first formed.
HRC crews regularly compete in Central Districts Rowing Associations (CDRA) regattas, and NSW Rowing Association (NSWRA) regattas with a high degree of success. HRC has also been represented at Australian and International regattas, winning events on many occasions.
